Composer
Daughter of costarrican based contemporary music composer Mario Alfagüell, she was exposed to composition from an early age. Winner of international composition prize “Donne in Musica” hosted by the Adkins Chiti foundation in November 2018, Rome, Italy. Her works range from soloist and chamber percussion repertoire to numerous student-aimed etudes of varying difficulty.
Her compositional style encompasses a broad spectrum of genres, including contemporary, alternative and underground music, and a fusion of traditional costarrican and central american rhythms with popular pieces. Furthermore, Alfaro possesses a distinct interest in the electronic marimba, exploring its limits and versatility with original pieces.
She has a diplomate in Composition for film scoring from Salta University, Argentina.
Her works have been played all over the world, including countries such as Puerto Rico, Mexico, Italia, Guatemala, Suiza, and Costa Rica.
